January 2023 Staff Spotlight
Racheal Kolawole
Staff Accountant
Racheal joined the Hawthorne & Co. CPAs team in March 2022 as a Staff Accountant.
When she came to us, she says she was looking for an opportunity to work at a company with skilled staff, to develop professionally and gain experience, and to help people achieve their financial goals. She also wanted to be able to give back to the company by helping it continue to grow.
Racheal’s favorite part of working at Hawthorne & Co. CPAs is working with her colleagues on client engagements, especially when a deadline is coming up because everyone steps up and is ready to assist one another.
As a young professional, Racheal says the best advice she has received is advice she would like to pass on to others who are early in their career. She believes it is important to always be a person of integrity and accountability, and to never stop learning new things.
“Never stop learning. Continue to add new skills, learn new ways of doing things, and learn from those who have been successful in the field. Always be ready to embrace professional development,” Racheal advises.
Professionally, Racheal strives to have a successful career and to take her accounting career to the highest level. She also wants to be able to use her skills and experience to help people be at peace and find stability in their financial life.
Outside of work, Racheal aims to have a stable life, to grow and mature as a person, to make people around her happy, and to have a fulfilling family life.
Racheal’s favorite hobbies are ones that help her relax and recharge. She enjoys watching movies, reading, and sleeping. She says she loves sleeping so much, that she will often spend her weekend getting some extra naps in. As much as she loves to sleep, she says something that people wouldn’t know about her is that she has a fear of darkness – and a fear of heights.
