Ray joined the Hawthorne & Co. CPAs team as a Staff Accountant in June 2022. One thing he loves about working at our office is having his own dedicated work space. He says at firms he worked at previously, workspaces were checked-out and shared between employees, so having his own space is a nice change of pace.

Ray’s advice to another young professional would be to create a great resume and always keep it up-to-date. He says it saves a lot of time and stress when preparing what will be your first impression with a potential employer.

He also advises that you should always remember to prioritize your wellbeing. “Try not to ever let work become an excuse to not take care of yourself or your loved ones. Ideally, the purpose of work is to be able to do a better job at the care one takes.”
