IRS Reminds Seniors and Immigrants to Watch Out for Predators as part of the “Dirty Dozen” Series
Compiled annually by the Internal Revenue Service, the “Dirty Dozen” lists a variety of common scams that taxpayers may encounter anytime, but many of these schemes peak during filing season as people prepare their returns or hire someone to help with their taxes.
This year’s “Dirty Dozen” was separated into four installments, and today we are sharing the third installment. The Internal Revenue Service continues its “Dirty Dozen” tax scams list with Ruses Focusing on Unsuspecting Victims. This list warns people to watch out for tax-related scams involving fake charities, ghost preparers and other schemes.
